Beyond Childhood-Adult Tales

A popular misconception when someone hears the word Storyteller is that this is a children’s activity.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Everyone communicates using storytelling while defining their day, recounting their trip, telling jokes and anecdotes and so on.  As an art form, storytelling is experiencing growth in adult forums.

It is a dynamic and entertaining segment for lunch  and dinner meetings,  and sales meetings and conferences.

Brenda has delighted audiences such as adults of the Halton Aphasia Centre, conference participants on Violence for the Halton Police Association, the Burlington Tennis Club, Administrative Assistants Association, Evangelical Lutheran Women, MS Society, Newcomer’s Club, and Anglican Church Women.

Brenda is also a member of the Uppity Women, a group of five storytellers founded by Carol Leigh Wehking.   Uppity Women tell folktales and true tales about sheroes: females who led lives out of the ordinary.  They have been featured at many venues throughout southern Ontario and beyond, and their program also includes The Dame Name Game.

What an enjoyable way to enhance the ambience and camaraderie of an afternoon or evening!
